Guests
at the Gala Dinner included various Government representatives, many
of Cumberland's clients, most of Cumberland's extensive broker
network, the entire Cumberland workforce, and, of course, all the
members of the Board led by the Founder and Chairman Antoine El
Khoury, who welcomed the guests. In his welcoming remarks,
Mr. El Khoury thanked all those present for their
contribution to the success of the company which had risen to rank
No.8 in the market.
Mr.
Rizk El Khoury, President and CEO, in charting the success of
Cumberland described how his father had worked in the insurance
industry in Saudi Arabia for some 27 years before fulfilling his
long held ambition to return to Lebanon one day to start his own
company. That dream was realized by the launch of Cumberland 10
years ago. Rizk El Khoury paid tribute to the many people
present, who as a result of their tenacity and hard work had made
Cumberland the success it is today.
Guests
were later entertained to a cabaret performance by chanteuse Grace
Dib; while comedian, Mario Bassil and his entourage provided some
extremely topical humour which was well received by the
crowd. This was followed by a disco which enabled dancing to
continue to the early hours of the morning.
The
evening was organized by Events Plus of
Beirut.
